NEO-REALISM
-Reflects the identity as Filipinos were rising from the ashes of war.
- Art that exposed “true social conditions” of the period.
- Established canon to the abstract, expressionist, symbolist and other modes of creative expression characteristic of the art of the modern world.

-Artist writer E. Aguilar Cruz observed a group of artists who exeplified a new kind of modernism emerged and named this movement Neo-Realism.
- “Thirteen Modern” appeared to effect the desired seachange, but somehow they did not have die necessary collective anima.
